Could someone verify this?

That's right. I had one of my recommenders fax a letter last week.

I'm sure they don't have PIs doing callbacks to verify the fax numbers are kosher. Letterhead is good, however.

Yep, this is the correct number. One of my recommenders sent it out through fax on Monday morning, and it was received and processed by Monday afternoon.

That is great news. I'm trying to get an app out on Monday and thought it would be impossible to... still pushing it but we'll see what happens.
