How long are your Why X essays? Double-spaced? Forum

I tried to keep mine below one page, double spaced. I think that's what a few schools recommend, and I figured I didn't want to go overboard for the others.

+1. The "Why X" essay is meant as a demonstration of interest. You do it and you maybe get the bump, don't risk annoying the adcomms with anything longer than a page.
