One of my professors has agreed to write me a letter of recommendation. However, he was out of town for a while so this past month we have not been able to meet. I am planning on applying ED to a school and their deadline is Nov. 15th. I am dropping off my resume, etc. to him today. Any advice on how I can politely tell him that I need the LOR mailed by Nov. 1st?

A fat wad of cash usually helps.

pray to god he doesnt value his free time infinitely more than writing a LOR for someone, and can write it and put it in the mail by nov 1. Ask him what his time frame looks like for writing the letter and try and mention that if he could get it in sooner it would directly effect when you apply, and you will give him a hundred dollar handshake.
