I'm using the LSAC online applications format through their CAS program.

Do schools have a maximum LOR limit? I'm wondering because I was planning on sending in 3 to each school I apply to but was wondering if more would would be beneficial or if there are diminishing returns...

1) UG professor I did research with
2) Asst. Dean to the business college
3) Current fortune 500 employer

Also, am I correct in assuming that only 1 LOR should be sent in by each person andthat LSAC will make copies and distribute them out with my applications? Or if I plan to apply to 10 different schools, will the person writing the LOR have to send LSAC 10 different letters?

Most schools like at least one academic LOR (#1).
Your current employer is also a good source for a LOR (#3).

However, if you are simply getting a letter from the assistant dean without ever having a substantial amount of direct contact with him / her (e.g. research, class, etc), then that LOR is pretty much useless (#2). It sounds like people who say they can get a judge that they happen to know to write them a LOR even though the judge knows nothing about them from a standpoint law schools would be interested in.

And each LOR writer only writes one letter. They mail it into LSAC along with the sheet that you need to prepare and give to them prior to them sending it into LSAC. Everything can be done on the computer / internet if you apply through CAS.

Good to hear that CAS isn't a huge pain like I thought it might be. I am including the LOR from the Asst. Dean because I did a lengthy study abroad with her through the UK. She was extremely impressed with my work and how I handled myself, she even suggested that I strongly consider going back to school for a Doctorate.
