Small typo in supplemental essay: How big of a deal?

In conducting a final review of an application, I noticed a small typo (one sentence is missing the word "the") in one of my supplemental essays. Thankfully I caught it for this particular app; unfortunately, I had sent a very similar supplement to another school and failed to catch the error. This may sound a bit paranoid, but how big of a deal do you think this is? Is it worth sending a follow-up, or would that just make it worse by calling attention to the error?

I would just let it go. They read those things so quickly, they might not even catch it.

At a panel I just went to, the Deans said they didn't care about one typo--they just don't want to see a pattern of egregious mistakes.
Edit: The Deans were from Chicago, Michigan, and Penn if that helps any. All three of them agreed on this point.

depends on the school, if you sent it to HYS CCN they will dock you bad if you are borderline.

I don't think it will matter much. One typo in a supplemental essay doesn't seem that big of a deal if your PS, app, and everything else turned out okay.
Good luck!!

Thanks all... Great to hear that anectote from the admissions panel since I definitely sent the error to one of those schools

Having a copy of your submitted applications available for review is horrible for the paranoia...

Funny thing is adcomm's always say that typos are one of their biggest peeves when they do interviews

Well I'll be sure to update this in a few months and let you know how this turns out. I am comfortably within the LSAT/GPA range of a school I sent it to, so we'll see if it makes a major difference.
