Weak Splitter/Fall 2010 Grades

How important do fall grades matter? I am overloaded and working my ass off in order to improve my GPA more for my benefit and satisfaction than my LS apps. I wrote an addendum explaining my few semesters that KILLED my GPA. How much does it really matter though? Thanks.
