I'm pretty new to the whole "law school scene" but a friend of mine goes to Cooley so I checked out the website.

Do they really report a set of rankings that was put together by the founder of the school?

Why yes they do! And their seats in the library are top notch...

Cooley is a diploma mill, do not attend and avoid it like the plague. Only exception is if you live in Michigan and your father is a partner who will take you in, plus you get free ride.

These a-holes won't stop e-mailing me. I've started personally replying to all the spam messages they've sent. The University of Dayton is getting the same treatment.

One of them sent me an e-mail that said something like "Does the world need more lawyers? We say YES!" I responded and said "Not ones who go to fourth-tier law schools."

"its the passion and the skills, the ethics we instill, at Coooooley"

they really have a jingle if you watch the videos on their site

There are about 3,456 threads about this same subject scattered around the board. So yes, they do. Yes, it is ridiculous. Yes, you should not take them seriously.

It doesn't matter who you compare Cooley to, they come out #1 in their rankings. Even against Yale.

On the bright side, I think Yale does fairly well in Cooley rankings too. So even if you are stuck at Yale, you are at a top 3 school!

Yale is too small. Harvard dominates the Cooley rankings.

As a cooley law school graduate and law firm partner, I feel obliged to comment on your baseless slandering of my alma mater. Cooley may not be the highest ranked law school, may not have the most famous alumni, may not be an accredited institution, may not have both male and female restrooms in its buildings, may not have "professors" or "faculty", may not have books in its library, may not have a library that is not a boiler room, may not have a working boiler room, may not even be a law school...but I guarantee that we are the best email senders in the business.

This thread reeks of jealousy. What stadium is named after your law school?

Yeah. How many of your grads have won back, to back, to back AAU championships?

That's what I thought.

University of Michigan almost had to move to South Florida too. They couldn't compete with...Coooooooooooooley! Cooley, of course, is named after founder William "Coo" Ley.
