EDing UChicago or Columbia

I'd rather ED at Columbia but am afraid I'd be overreaching and would have a better chance at Chicago. Is Columbia significantly more selective than Chicago or are they interchangeable?

I think you'd be overreaching. Chicago is already a reach for you (and me, numbers twin). If you'd rather be in NY, then ED to NYU instead. I don't think there's a huge difference in terms of placement.
Edit: Looking at LSN again, ED to Columbia isn't impossible. But it's pretty unlikely.

Have you looked at the 2013 medians? NYU is equivalent to Columbia.

But their LSN graphs are very different.

I would ED at Chicago or NYU. Columbia is too much of a reach unless you have good softs (top UG, WE, national awards, etc).
