Time required for LSAC to update LORs?

Post by ckdgusdl88 » Mon Oct 11, 2010 11:10 am

Hi,

My recommenders sent in LORs about 12 days ago and LSAC still hasn't "received" them.
The recommenders sent it in by snail mail.

Does it take a long time for LSAC to receive, upload, and update LOR info?
What's the usualy time frame?

One of my LORs last month was sent on Thursday and received and processed on Tuesday. Not sure if mine is an unusual case and if they're getting overloaded now, but hope that gives you some frame of reference.

I'm in the same boat. Been waiting since roughly October 1st (approximate date of arrival) but my letter has not yet changed to received. I'm hoping it is just a backlog due to the recent LSAT administration + busy season.

Have him/her fax his/her letter. I waited 4 weeks for my mailed letter to show and it never did.

I have also been waiting on my for over two weeks to show up! When I called their response was, "Well we are really busy this time of year!"

My recommender mailed it 12 days ago, and it just went up today. So there must be some backup, because no way it takes that long to get there. I would wait a few more days, and if it doesn't arrive, I'd ask the recommender to fax it

All my LOR's were sent via snail mail between Sept 1. and last week. All were processed about 7-10 days average. I am near LSAC so it only takes 1 day for the mail to get to them though.

LSAC has been great about mine. My prof mailed mine via priority mail last Friday (10/08) and it was processed today.

It's the priority mail. Mine was through first class.

My first one, which was sent in early sept. went up really fast.
My prof that sent it more recently, it's been weeks. I figure if it's not up by score release, I'll have her resend via fax. Pain in the butt. I'm sure they are backed up though, at test time.

My recommender sent mine in last Saturday (October 9) and LSAC processed it yesterday (October 14). Less than a week! And all the horror stories on this forum had left me scared....Now I just gotta send off the other 2 letters. Priority mail it is!

I'm in the same boat. It's been 9 days in my case. I actually sent an updated copy of my transcript 7 days ago, and that hasn't gone up, either. I am checking the LSAC website constantly. I think I've developed a twitch.

My last LOR writer sent late 10/1, first class (regular) mail, and it was posted late 10/7. (I then promptly sent my Fordham app).
Letters sent during less busy times of the year were posted within 3 or 4 business days of mailing. You'll probably gain a day by sending priority.

My professors mailed my recommendations via regular mail last Friday, and they were all posted by Wednesday (which includes the federal holiday/no mail service on Monday). Not sure what is the cause of the discrepancy.

if sent priority mail (2 days), it posts on the 3rd day (assuming all three are business days)

Mine was mailed last Wednesday and processed yesterday (Monday), so it looks like LSAC is processing them quickly, at least for now.

I'm applying to a school that ONLY accepts those damn evaluations.... anyone know how long those take to process...or are they pretty much electronically sent and show up soon after?

Definitely electronic.

I only had one evaluation, but as soon as I filled out the request on LSAC an email was sent to the Evaluator. He had to make an account to complete the evaluation and after that he was able to start filling out the evaluation right away. A few minutes after he hit "Submit" it showed up on my account.
