What do you need for a good money offer from T50 schools?

Post by Omegared179 » Wed Oct 06, 2010 5:17 am

Hi all,

Have been on this forum a lot as I try to decide what to do with my future (still currently at UCLA undergrad), I think it might possibly be in my best interests to stay away from T14 schools given the large amount of debt I would likely have to take on and the high risk of not making it into big law and burning out even if I do. Which T50 schools (I am currently looking at Hastings, University of Colorado, and UNC) are most willing to give merit scholarships? What would it take to get a full ride/great offer from Hastings (Non-urm and URM please), something like a 3.50/170?

Thanks in advance

If you want to have the best chance of getting at least SOME money, you would want to be above both the GPA and LSAT 75th percentiles. At the very least LSAT > 75 GPA at median. Others will obviously get cash, but that would lead you to be pretty confident about it.

Public schools, like the ones you mentioned, are going to give less than private as well, but they also likely have lower tuition.

WashU gives a lot of money out; if you break 170 and have a good gpa, they will give you $$$
