Law schools see both, but only the cumulative GPA is considered, since it's reported to ABA and used by US News.

It may be true that admissions committees only consider the cumulative GPA (I have no idea), but the fact that this is the GPA that is reported to the ABA and is used by USNWR is not evidence that law schools use this number exclusively.

I have never heard of law schools giving degree GPAs any consideration. Can anyone prove me otherwise? The only context I've heard them used in is: "but I had a higher degree GPA."
