mine too! thoughts?
I can't be sure. I know a lot of people who claim they have reach numbers changed from 11/15 or so to "decision letter sent," so they are predicting hold/rejects. My numbers are pretty solid for NYU-ED, but I am a 3-time LSATer, so my cycle, specifically at NYU could be hugely unpredictable. I think they just can't decide for us (me at least) and are gonna send me a hold letter in a couple of days.

What kind of numbers, etc do you have?

I have solid softs, applied for an extra scholarship, sent in a traffic addendum on 11/15, etc.

A few observations for those of us who are still UR:

1) It appears that while all of the EDers who had "Decision Sent" in early December were acceptances, those with that status update around 12/15 or 12/17 were rejections. Those of us still UR appear to be the most borderline and may be deferral candidates.

2) According to the NYU 2011 waiting thread, applicants are now A) receiving acceptance letters without their status changing and B) receiving acceptance letters very shortly after their status changes. The latter means that, unlike earlier this month, there isn't much institutional lag in between the status change and the mail actually being sent off. Overall, these two developments combined may mean that even though our statuses haven't changed, we could still hear before the Christmas "deadline."

I'm guessing they were sick of people calling asking "where is my letter? What does this mean?" and are neglecting the status checker. Or so I can hope.

Are you still UR? Everyone other than me seems to have had their status updated to letter sent today.

I was UR from 11/18 until today, when it switched to 'decision letter sent', 12/21. Any speculation about what the timing means? :)

Edit -- RC fail on the post above. Seems like I'm not so special, then.

I'm guessing that the others getting "decision letter sent" means we are deferred. Obviously we can't get a decision letter if we don't get a decision, and those with UR dates of 12/15 seem to be getting deferrals.

Interesting theory. Did any of the deferrals get "decision letter sent"? So you're saying that all of us who got "decision letter sent" yesterday are either in the last rejection or last acceptance batch?

Everyone ED that I've seen who updated to 12/15 UR has gotten a deferral letter or hasn't heard anything (probably because of a delay in mailing I'm thinking). No deferrals with "decision letter sent" yet.

I'm guessing 12/21 was the last round and included all three kinds.

Nothing for me, but I am relatively certain that it has been decided that 12/15=deferral.

What makes you so sure? Are you just trying to manage expectations or do you have a reason? (I'm also 12/15 UR ED w/ low end numbers and my decision letter was mailed 12/21).

To my knowledge, every 12/15 UR ED has been a deferral thusfar

Not to keep pushing this point, but what is your sample size? I just want to know because I'm away and won't get back home to read the letter for about a week. If it's pretty clear I did not get in, better to know now.

It's a relatively small sample size (4-5), but a trend nonetheless. Plus, all who seem to be waiting at said date (myself included--3 time LSATer) are borderline applicants. I don't want to be a debbie-downer on the holidays, but the likelihood of a deferal for all the 12/15ers seems pretty high.

Unless you have evidence to the contrary? :?: :o :?:

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
