TRANSCRIPT QUESTION

Hi I couldn't find this anywhere in the forums:
I recently graduated and am trying to update my transcript via LSAC. I was given a few official sealed transcripts with the registrars seal after graduation. Is it ok to include the sealed transcripts and my LSAC form in a seperate larger envelope and send it to LSAC? Or will they not evaluate its since its not directly sent from the registrar?

I am pretty sure it has to be sent directly from the registrar's office.

ahhhh... what if I just address it to LSAC by putting a white label addressed in the center of the envelope? My school would take forever just to send it, plus I've got a freaking parking ticket that will I'll have to pay before I can do anything. I don't miss the BS of college

The transcript itself is addressed to you, no? If it is, LSAC will not accept it, whether or not it's still in the sealed envelope. You can try sending it and crossing your fingers, but I highly doubt they'll process it.

Its actually not addressed to anyone its just in a registrars envelope with a black line saying "official transcript". The center of the envelope (where the address would go) is blank. And the backit says, seal cant be broken

No I mean the transcript itself, not the envelope. Usually on the transcript itself somewhere they put down who it's for. Or at least that's how it's done at my school. Maybe they have different versions for the student him/herself vs. a 3rd party, I don't know.
I highly doubt that LSAC will accept it, but if it's that much of a hassle to get your registrar to send one I think calling LSAC and asking is the most safest route.

Transcripts issued to you or sent by you will not be processed.

Ehhh if it's in the original envelope with the registrar's seal on it, I bet it'll be fine (how would they know who sent it?). LSAC will process transcripts without the transcript request form, it just takes a little longer. If you have a couple extra, why not just send one in and see what happens? Just realize that if it doesn't work you're looking at a month before your transcript is in and processed.

Just address it to LSAC and put your schools information in the return address part. Do not include your LSAC form since that would kind of be a giveaway in my opinion. Mine got sent in by my school without the LSAC form and were still processed within a matter of days.
Just my opinion.

Thanks for the input. I dropped by the school and asked if they could possibly send it for me. They said they couldn't open the seal and reenvelope the transcript, but they put it in a larger university registrar addressed envelope and included the sealed transcript and LSAC form. It could backfire, but hey it was sent from the school right? I feel good about it. Thanks again.
