Hey, everyone.

Do any of you know if schools only give you fee waivers if you haven't started an application with them yet? I have received fee waivers from a number of different schools that I hadn't started applications with. Vanderbilt and NW are two that I will add to my list since I got fee waivers from them. But I am wondering if schools won't give you a fee waiver if they see that you've already started an application with them (since you're presumable applying without it).

Any thoughts? Should I delete all of my applications and see if I get any more fee waivers over the next few weeks?

And sorry if the answer to this is buried in that 62-page post about which schools have given fee waivers this cycle!

I don't think schools can see whether you've started an application with them. If you want a fee waiver that you haven't gotten, e-mail and politely ask for one.

No - they will still since waivers. I checked for a hidden Columbia waiver awhile back, so started the app, didnt get it. A few weeks later I got it. Same with NW, Michigan and NYU. So it doesnt matter

I got a fee waiver from NYU a couple of weeks after I submitted.

That's my other fear! I'll turn in my applications early and miss out on more fee waivers. I guess it's the risk we have to take though!

Dont know if NW will do this, but you can call admissions and ask if they would be willing to refund you based on you getting a merit waiver after submitting. I know Penn and Duke explicitly told me they would refund if they send you a waiver after you already submit.
