I just got an unprompted fee waiver from Columbia University with a 169 LSAT, does this indicate that I would have a good chance if I applied there?

There aren't a million other threads on this exact same topic. There really aren't.

ITE, money in your pocket is always a good sign.

They explicitly say in the waiver offers that an offer is not a determination of your probability of being accepted - essentially getting a fee waiver offer doesn't mean you're more likely to be accepted. That doesn't mean you shouldn't apply, however. Save money bro.

Or, it's the best info available anywhere regarding your chances. Fee waivers are meaningless, relatively speaking.

Why didn't they send me one? Oh... The agony of it all!

Short answer: No.

Long answer: I wouldn't get my hopes up unless you are a URM.

It would be a good sign for me (and quite a few others) if everyone with a LSAT of 171 or below do not send an application for fear of wasting $12 (or more).



Seriously it is a good sign because it now only costs you $12 to dream about Columbia.
