I am currently a Junior at UNC Charlotte majoring in Physics with a Mathematics minor. My overall GPA is around 3.2, and I expect it to remain around there or slightly higher; my Physics GPA is 3.5. I have taken four practice LSATs with scores of 168, 170, 173, and 171, respectively. I am a resident of North Carolina and also a white male. I have five semesters of research experience, which required a substantial amount of writing. Given my profile, how would you rate my chances for admission to Chapel Hill? I am open to all opinions and greatly appreciate your help.

With a 3.2 and a 168, LSP puts you at a 'consider' for UNC, with 48% of people below you.

However, without knowing your LSAT for sure... you can't really know your chances. Start scoring consistently higher on your practice tests, and your chances go up significantly (provided you score that on the real thing).
Your NC residency will probably help you as well.

I'd say you're in if you score 170 or more on the LSAT. UNC's median GPA went down to 3.5 this year from 3.6. The median LSAT went up 1 point. I met a guy at ASW this spring with numbers similar to yours.
Compared to other schools, UNC takes a holistic approach to it's applicants (hence the long turnaround time for offers, low acceptance rate and a high yield), they will take your major and minor into account. Take the additional essay requirements seriously and you will have a great shot.

if you get 168-170 Apply to better schools. Id say if you get 161+ you should be in as a NC citizen.

So would you say I have a shot at Duke with 168-170?

You should be fine. They typically have 25% of their applicants from in state for around 75% of the spots in the class. They like to see that you have a story, and love first generation college students.
168-170 would put you into a "maybe" for Duke. Your low GPA would probably cancel it out. Also, don't use that calculator thing from other websites, it's not accurate at all.

You're gonna need 172ish for Duke imo.
I think you are good for UNC with 164+
