Need suggestions on where to apply...

Hey y'all,

I'm new to TLS and generally, I've seen some pretty good advice here. I'm compiling a list of where I should apply (10-13 schools), and wondering if I can have some input from the members:

Double major in poli sci & econ, 3.98 gpa, 159 lsat, employed for 1.5 yrs out of undergrad, and decent softs one being: spent some time in the US as undocumented, but not a URM candidate.

Thanks y'all.

Please oh please retake the LSAT.

That GPA is pure gold with 170+.

Hi OGR,

I have 151 & 159 and if I decide to take the Oct LSAT, I only have a month left to study. I haven't touched a single question since the June 159 score, so I am thinking of just applying. What do you think?

You're pretty much shut out of the T-20 with that score. Were both scores attained with self-study? If so, I would strongly suggest taking a class and just waiting until February or June and applying next year. It'll be well worth the wait even if you can get into the mid-to-high 160s.

The difference between a 3.98/159 and a 3.98/170+ is worth literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship money and employment prospects. Re-take, even if you have to wait till next cycle to apply.

Retake the LSAT.

Also, not entirely sure you should mention being an illegal immigrant.

Yeah, how is being an illegal immigrant a "soft"?...

If OP is Now Legal, then achieving the legal status is a huge achievement because most people could never accomplish it. Seeing that OP graduated from college I assume this was accomplished. I don't know the fact itself should be a soft, but the fact that he overcame it should.

Retake, if no good, take the year off and devote to study and retake. anything over 163-4 would greatly improve your prospects.
