Sorry in advance- not really sure which forum this should go into...

A general question- do those admitted to a Top 3 (HYS) usually get into the others or one other and have a choice, or is it more of an admit and 2 waitlists? I think anyone would be grateful to get into any of these, but I am just wondering what the norm is.

Thanks for the help

It realy depends in he applicant. if you get into yale you likely go stanford and harvard too. not the other way around though. S and H seem to have a decent amount of cross admits.

The simple numbers between the 3 schools make it clear that it wont be very common to be admitted to all 3. Yale accepted 270 last year, Stanford probably accepted a little bit more(say ~300-350) and Harvard admitted 833. So at most 270 of at least 833 HYS acceptees could be accepted to all 3. The actual number is far lower.
