No, it's more like playing golf, because you can't disrupt the performance of your competitors, you're just playing alone basically.

Oh yeah, you're right! It totally is! Because going to war always involves filling out online applications in your pajamas while sipping some tea.
This thread just gave me down syndrome.

Except in war you just kill people. In law school applications you kill other people's souls.

I just find the comparison ridiculous. Wars annihilate entire societies. The law school application process makes nerdy kids nervous.

People on this site have the WORST sense of humor. 90 % of what's said here isn't even remotely funny.

It's mildly funny, at the least.

Is applying to law school like building a log cabin in the middle of a winter snowstorm while learning how to juggle?
Discuss!

If a videogame can be considered going to war or simulating war, applying to law school is definitely like going to or simulating war. People can actually lose their livelihood in this process(or battle).
At least in a video game it's all pretend.

Never been to war. But I can imagine if I had, this thread would be offensive. OP: from all the people who have actually deployed, or known those who have, go fuck yourself.

Military uses video games to simulate real life battle conditions. They obviously see value in its similarity to real-life combat situations.

Well, I have close friends who have gone to war. Some never returned. On behalf of them - go fuck yourself, sir.
War(def)

EDIT: Please don't put words in our service members mouths. You don't speak for my dead friends. Got it?

You forgot the first part:
1 a (1) : a state of usually open and declared armed hostile conflict between states or nations (2) : a period of such armed conflict (3) : state of war b : the art or science of warfare c (1) obsolete : weapons and equipment for war (2) archaic : soldiers armed and equipped for war
Also, your dead friends say, "go fuck yourself."

War? No. Maybe like internet dating though. Trying to present yourself in the best light possible, knowing that if you lie to make yourself look better you will get caught. Obsessively looking at the pics and stats and info from each "contender" trying to figure out whether they are being entirely honest with you. Waiting for a phone call, an e-mail, ANYthing. The lows of being rejected. The highs of being accepted. Starting to wonder if the whole thing is just a giant mistake. Worrying you are going to shell out a ton of money for nothing in return.

Two friends of mine gone (one in Basra, the other Kandahar). OP: this thread is absurd. I would punch you in the face if I ever had the chance, and I'm a civilian.
