I read a lot of these boards, but rarely respond. I have a quick question--I have been advised that there are a couple of situations that would warrant an "addendum" be written for my application:

1) A second LSAT score 8 points higher than the first (169 in Feb 2008 to 177 in June 2010)
2) A somewhat meandering career path (teacher in low-income school to graduate student to teacher at a high-end prep school)
3) An explanation of a minor criminal charge from about a year and a half ago

I understand that #3 is an absolute must, since schools ask for it specifically. Should I stop there, or should I go all in and write three of these things? Do Adcomms look poorly on applicants who try to "explain away" too much? My initial reaction is that one is good, but any more would be pushing it.

i don't see why you would need an addendum for either 1 or 2. the latter could, perhaps, be addressed in your personal statement.

Some schools specifically ask for an addendum to #1, so I'd give it to them. Number two isn't a really meandering career path so even if they wanted it, I think you're covered. I mean, many teachers go back to graduate school. Some even, occasionally, change jobs within their profession.
