For those taking the LSAT in October, how do you guys plan on going about the application process?
I know it might not make sense to work on applications till after you receive your LSAT score but what about other parts of the application like the personal statement, etc...
Will you be working on the personal statement while studying for the LSAT or only after?
any advice regarding how you will go about the application process is greatly appreciated
thank you

I'm planning on having everything submitted to LSAC and ready to go so that when my score comes in my report will be automatically sent to my schools of choice.

anybody know how long it takes for the scores to come in?
i am not sure where, but i remeber reading somewhere on this website that generally your application is considered early if it is received by thanksgiving.
any thoughts?

I dunno about thanksgiving. I've always felt late October/very early November is what's considered early.

I think some people (Anna Ivey included, if memory serves) suggest that you apply by Thanksgiving at the latest.
OP, I would definitely say get your transcripts and letters of recommendation sent in far in advance -- these are the parts of the application that take time to process, and aren't (necessarily) school specific.

I will do that and i plan on working on my Personal statement while studying for the lsat, and then the applications after i receive my score.
Just a thought, anybody preparing more than one personal statement?

I was wondering about this too-- especially for those of us retaking in October. Is EA/ED a possibility? Is it wisest to submit everything as early as possible (with the old LSAT score) and let schools know we're retaking, or just to wait on submitting aps until new scores are received?

I am also wondering if EA/ED is a possibility with an Oct retake.

Last year the comparable test was administered on September 26th and scores were released on October 16th, plenty of time for ED if the rest of your app is ready to go. Schools are aware of the time line, and I think most will say that the September/October administration is the last acceptable one to get ED/EA apps in. Check specific school websites or email/call them for their policy, but allow 3 weeks for your score to come back, and if the test date is a month before the ED deadline, you're probably fine.

Depending on my LSAT score, I'll probably ED or just apply to my tougher schools right after I get my score, and wait to get a fee waiver (hopefully) for my safety schools .
