GPA slope

Hey yall,

I've been getting good scores on my PLSATs (high 160s), and I was wondering about how much my GPA will hurt me. It's upward sloping, and I transfered from a community college (3.35 gpa at community college, 3.5 at the University). Will that mitigate the low GPA somewhat or will schools generally not look past the index?

lol @ "upward sloping." Are you an econ major?

Schools generally don't care very much about upward trends in grades, if you'd even consider a .15 difference a noteworthy upward trend.

Also, there is a search function at the top of the page that would prevent you from asking a question that's already been discussed here a hundred times.

That wasn't really the slope I was referring to, as my last year at the university I got 8 A's and a B, compared to almost all Bs my first year.

And sorry, I'll search next time (first time topic maker guy)

Grade trends don't really seem to matter a whole lot, since trend or no trend, it doesn't change the GPA.
