Top Law Schools

Okay seriously... I got a 3.3 GPA from a good school, but that was 4 years ago. I took the LSAT--banged out a 170, and will retake it to try and squeeze out another 5 points, but what the f*ck else is there to do???

-GPA addendum? check
-stellar recs? check
-4 years work experience? check
-great volunteering work w/inner city kids? check
-well-rounded athletic stuff? check

I've got a few months before I bang out an application to apply to the fall 2011 class. I want to get into NYU, UPenn, UCBerk, or Columbia, but can't think of annnnything else I can do to make this even a remote possibility unless I stumble across a Native American branch of my family tree for the URM ticket.

Any advice is hugely appreciated. I'll take the criticism too as long as it's humorous!

Fortunately for you the most important part of law school admissions is the combine.

The bad news is that all the schools you listed are fundamentally out of reach with that GPA even if you up the LSAT a bit. Apply anyway, but don't stress about it, it is so unlikely. The good news is a 3.3, 170 will probably get you into a lot of greats schools (Georgetown, Cornell, Northwestern with WE). Just make sure you put a lot of time and effort into your personal statement, it matters os much more than addenda. Good luck.

3.3/173+ should get at least one of MVPNG, probably more than one.

retake LSAT? This is really all you can do if you want the schools you listed.

You have little more than a year to get some diversity. Suggestions:


If your male:

Sex change, transsexuals are very under represented in law school. A little squmish about cutting off your PeePee? Ok, then sounds like you're not really willing to do whatever it takes to get into a good school but here's another option. Try heroin, get addicted, give BJs in local park to old married men for drug money, get intervention, get clean write diversity statement, profit.

If female:

just go straight to the heroin, get pimp, get knocked up (interracial baby will get you more adcom points than same-race baby). Get clean, write diversity statement about it, profit, get extra g-ment money for your drug baby.

It's really a win-win. It just comes down to how bad you really want it
