Fails to account for nyu's placement into clerkships (crappy as it may be, still better than penns) and public interest. There's more, but am at work. Also, no biglaw hiring partner will dig as deeply into Penn as into nyu. Penn and nyu are widely regarded as being in diff tiers. None of this is contro.
Very true, and I think (or hope) most people would recognize that. I mean, no one here would say NW is better than Yale with a straight face, and the reasons you gave are exactly why. But NLJ is still very useful for gleaning information about schools' placement.

Someone (I believe Nightrunner?) made a chart comparing clerkship + biglaw statistics. That was really helpful.

Never thought they would.

I was just throwing it out that, strictly speaking, in the largest firms, Penn places a higher percentage of students.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the NLJ numbers are reported by firm, not school or individual.

If you want to argue the numbers are inaccurate because they are quasi-pre ITE, then okay. But I don't see how they aren't useful for school-to-school comparisons.
Sorry for being unclear. I meant that the less than 1% difference is possibly the result of more NYU students choosing public interest careers.

I have and do.
Guess we are talking to different hiring partners then.

The OP and his detractors equally deserve each other.
