I want to hedge this comment by stating that I prefer to make up my own mind, but seek to evaluate a diverse group of opinions.

OP, I would look around this site thoroughly before you spend any cash on a book. Most of the information that I have seen in books has been on TLS somewhere. That being said I would recommend How To Get Into The Top Law Schools by Richard Montauk. The book has a significant portion of it devoted to real admission deans giving their opinions on the subject matter the author just discussed. I would avoid The Top Law Schools Admissions Game like the plague; the book is essentially a 100+ page advertisement for the woman who wrote it (I am not saying her name intentionally).

If you want a less expensive book than the Montauk's, who also advertises his company but in a less complicating way, then I would suggest Anna Ivey's The Ivey Guide To Law School Admissions. Ivey does advertise her services as well, but I just like her straight-up honest, in your face approach better than some. Plus, she has interesting things to say about what specific admissions factors count for what.

If that is actually a cat, then I second your picture.

I thought OP was asking for admin advice books, not LSAT prep stuff. I also hope OP is not simply a flame.

a flame? i dont think so...

yes admissions not LSAT....

i just came back from the library and the only admissions book they had was "How to get into a good Law School" by Susan Estrich so i got that for the weekend

Then hopefully go to the larger library branches and see if their are better alternatives.
