Low GPA but mult years of work experience

How much does your GPA really factor into your application if you'll be out of school 4 years and then going to law school?? I ask because I have a 170 but a 3.3 from top undergrad... does my gpa really factor in that much?

Schools will care in differing amounts. It's still a factor, but your work experience will be more of a factor.
However, if its not law related I would be careful.

The work will help offset it.
But different schools have different priorities. Some favor GPA, some favor LSAT.
You might have a good chance at Northwestern win that LSAT and work experience.

Your WE will help separate you from applicants without any, and will get schools to overlook your GPA to some extent, but you will only get into schools where the median is 170 or lower. Fortunately for you, this means several lower T14 schools are still in reach, especially if you ED to one. Penn, Virginia, Northwestern, and Georgetown are among the schools you should consider EDing to.
