is lsat racist?
i had a thought.
it would seem to me to be practically impossible (especially after the whole fields mess-up) that for someone to whom english is not their first language to do well on the lsat. the logical reasoning especially. ergo, the practice of law has essentially whittled out most minorities!

Well, law school is in English, as is most legal practice that deals with American law.

Black people don't speak English as a first language?
News to me.

I don't think this is true. If your grip on English isn't strong enough to carry you through the admissions test, you're probably going to be in trouble in law school. The law is full of dense, largely irritating, convoluted and tricky phrases in English. That's a fact, and not a racist one.

Racism is, by definition, anything which a minority does worse in than the majority.

Racist in that it is a live entity in the form of a standardized test and discriminates against the human race by shape-shifting and catering its questions and answers to the color of the examinee's skin taking it on test day -- then it is racist.yoiav wrote:i had a thought.

Do you think the people in this image would do well on the LSAT?
Racist language is not tolerated on TLS.

Dude, you are really annoying.MTal wrote:Racism is, by definition, anything which a minority does worse in than the majority.
Do you just wait for a topic about race to come up and post that?

The LSAT isn't racist. Some of its best friends are black.

You can't be racist if you know and associate with black people.
Common white devil knowledge.

that is not the definition of racism. what i think the OP means to ask is 'is the lsat biased'?MTal wrote:Racism is, by definition, anything which a minority does worse in than the majority.

I'm quite offended that you think black people or mexican americans or any other minority can't speak english well enough to do well on the lsat. If anything the lsat is biased against those who come from low socio-economic levels and are probably not given the best educations. Yes this is typically minority students but no race is not the prereq.

The statistics don't show that LSAT is biased against minorities.

Why are you all feeding this troll. I think it's pretty clear that OP does not believe this. He's bored and wants to create a race argument.

Re: is lsat racist?
Do you know if there is data to show that the LSAT is biased against people of lower socioeconomic levels.merichard87 wrote:I'm quite offended that you think black people or mexican americans or any other minority can't speak english well enough to do well on the lsat.
