Top Law Schools

LSAT- 174
LSDAS GPA- 3.9ish from top 20

The schools I am interested in are:
Stanford
Berkley
USC
UCLA
Michigan
Harvard
Columbia

I feel pretty confident about getting in to all but Stanford and Harvard, but I would appreciate any insight on how financially feasible (read how much scholarship from each) I might qualify for based on my numbers.

just use lawschoolnumbers as a guide. you're not likely to get anything at CLS

USC and UCLA should give you full rides or close to it, I'm sure you know. You have a good shot at the Darrow at Michigan as well, but I think you're outside of the range of Hamiltons (full scholarship) and Butlers (half scholarship) at Columbia. Berkeley is stingy with scholarships because they have no funds, but you should get something small, and they will meet a peer school's offer.

Also, why no Chicago or NYU on your list? NYU gives out a few full rides in special fields (public interest, environmental law, some other stuff I forget) as well as a bunch of general scholarships up to half-tuition while Chicago gives out half-scholarships and down. It's always worth applying to all three (with Columbia) as they will more or less match one another's aid offers (while Columbia doesn't offer merit aid otherwise save for the named scholarships).

You have at least some chance at Yale as well, always worth a try.

Without a ~4.0 or 175+, you have a small chance at about $25k total from Columbia, but mostly likely will have to pay sticker. Michigan might give you a bit more (~$60k) if you manage not to get YPed.

@benj - I want somewhere warm and where I want to live in the future. For the most part I dislike NYC and Chicago. Edit- I see now what you meant about matching the scholarships. That is an idea.

@im_blue - By YPed do you mean yield protected (had to look that one up)? If so, does that mean they might reject me because they think I might decline an acceptance?

Thanks for all of the responses, I am hoping to get started on the application early and have unique essays for all my schools to increase a full ride!
