I'm being charged non-resident tuition when I'm a resident

I got off the waiting list after the deadline to submit my legal resident status, and now the financial aid office is charging my non-resident tuition. Is this common or an error? I already emailed the office but I wanted to get a consensus here.

seriously? Is this not something that you can figure out on your own?
