Hey sorry if this is sort of a pointless question but I would really appreciate it if anyone can give me an answer
If you call the admissions office can they tell you if you have been waitlisted and then denied or simply denied? Wondering if it shows the difference on your record.

What's the difference?
Denied is denied.
Denied is denied.

shouldn't they have notified you when you were first WLed, if that was the case?

in the case that they didn't i am wondering if they would be able to tell you the difference.
Also can they tell you the difference between withdrawn and denied?

You're talking about calling the Admission office and whether or not they can tell you what the status of your application is, right? In that case, they would be able to see if you're currently waitlisted. However, if you've been denied (even after being waitlisted), I don't see why they'd say, "you were waitlisted, but now you've been turned down." I mean, shouldn't you know? I'm sure that they know, but I'm equally sure they wouldn't be telling you all of this on the phone.yung wrote:in the case that they didn't i am wondering if they would be able to tell you the difference.

Why do you need to know whether you were WLed first if you know the ultimate response was a ding? Are you looking to reapply next year and would prefer to put that you were WLed and then Denied rather than just denied?kalvano wrote:Denied is denied.
