im guessing your overall gpa being 3.3 means you did pretty well otherwise? and your grades were good during your senior year?

lemnlime2 wrote:The title pretty much says it all. I'm graduating with a 3.3, but I had a bad time my Junior year and accumulated 3 failing grades. I have checked with LSAC, and those grades are definitely going to be calculated in my GPA. I also had 2 quarters where I withdrew, and a few dropped courses. Basically, an incredibly spotty transcript.
Does anyone have experience applying to law school with a similar story? (Mediocre GPA, but gaps in transcript?) How much weight will law schools put on my transcript issues? Should I write an addendum about this, or will that just draw attention to my transcript?
I scored a 176 on the LSAT, but I'm guessing that doesn't mean much with my grades.
Thanks for any help.
Don't worry about it. My transcript was similarly spotty, and it seemed to make no difference whatsoever.
The 176 is what counts.

Yeah, they won't give a shit what the transcript actually looks like. They care about the six digits that accompany your application: GPA 3.3x LSAT 176.

We need to see what his LSAC GPA looks like. His school might have averaged retakes, and those W's might count as F's.
3.3/176 gets MVPNCG, with a tiny shot at NYU. However, his gpa might not be 3.3.

What's MVP? Have to say, your responses make me feel a bit better about my chances. I thought for sure top 14 were out of the question.
MVP = Michigan, Virginia, Penn (Top 10)
