Really weird, risky "soft" -- to mention or not mention? Forum

I don't have much to write home about when it comes to softs besides some volunteer work, and a ton of work experience, but I've been kind of agonizing whether or not to include something on my application (a few people have said yes, a few people have said no). About three years ago when I was college sophomore I wrote/filmed/starred in a comedy web-series thing with my friends (just out of personal interest). A small production company in LA saw it, liked it, and wanted to produce it for me. They produced four episodes of it before they ran completely out of money, and I was no longer able to continue it on my own because they had the rights (bah). Now, the entire thing has a ton of inappropriateness/political incorrectness in it. Should I just totally forget about this and play it safe?

It probably makes no difference but it's actually kind of related to why I want to study law.

If anyone wants, they can PM me and I can give a little more info privately/you can berate me for being an idiot, etc.

If you want to use it to illustrate why you want to study law, a personal statement may be the best place to talk about it. It could make for an interesting, unique topic if done correctly.

Not to be overly cynical, but living in Los Angeles and having tons of friends/acquaintances being involved in webisodes of one type or another, barring any racial hate theme or pro-Hitler agenda, I say list it. Just don't expect it to make much of an impression, at least here on the west or east coast. The truth is, there are literally THOUSANDS of these things splattered over the internet.

But again, do list it. If anything, it may put you in a "creative" category and may give you a bump vs. someone else with similar #'s.

Last year, there was someone on this site asking about whether they should put down their career in porn films. So...I'm sure whatever political correctness you think you may have violated is tame in comparison. Besides, I've always doubted the knee-jerk belief that admissions officers are going to investigate a soft.
