Wait listed, Send letter about family health issues Forum

I would appreciate any advice on my situation.

I was currently planning on attending law school in new york this fall but due to unforeseen events, I feel obligated to stay in california. My family has gone through the deaths of my aunt and grandmother in the past 4 months and now new health issues are arising with other family members, I would like to stay closer to home.

I am currently waitlisted at 3 law schools in Cali, Chapman, Southwestern, and Loyola

Would writing a letter describing my current situation give me an advantage?
