Fantastic opportunities to speak with the Deans of top law schools continue to roll in this week. Shortly, TLS will be interviewing Dean Anne Richard of George Washington Law and Dean Rita Jones of Boston College Law.
Reader input is always appreciated, so post any questions you have for either Dean Jones or Dean Richard. Questions for both Deans are welcome, but if your inquiry is intended for one school in particular, please specify!

Does it make sense to attend your university at sticker cost in this economy?

For George Washington: Is it bad to specify that you have an interest in a specific specialty of law? I am interested in all, but already lean towards one specialty and want to know if it will hurt my application to talk about it, even briefly, in the PS. . .

For GW: Any additional info you could give us regarding the early decision full-tuition scholarship program would be much appreciated. For example, how many people are accepted for this program each year? What are the typical stats for people that are accepted? Do high-LSAT "splitters" (e.g. someone with a 3.4 or 3.5 but a very high LSAT) have a chance or is a very high GPA pretty much required for consideration?
Also, I'm sure lots of people would be interested in answers to the same employment-related questions that are being asked in the Duke/Penn thread.

For BC: For those of us looking at Boston schools, why should we choose to attend BC over BU?

How does BC's location outside the city affect it's students? What was the most memorable personal statement you've read, and what made it so memorable?
Thanks!

Just like many other law schools that have peer schools within its region, how does GW and GULC/BC and BU differ? What sort of advantage is there to attending GW/BC over GULC/GU?

Just building on these questions: Is there a "hard cap" to how many people can get in ED every year or is the number flexible depending on the quality of the applicant pool?

I am interested in possibly transferring into both of these schools. BC has a reputation of being hard to get into and GW is more transfer friendly. Why is BC so difficult and what is a grade cut off for a t3 transfer? What can a transfer applicant do, other than grades, to be a more competitive applicant? For GW: what are the benefits of transferring to GW?

How do transfers into BC fare in terms of employment prospects? What do they look for most in transfer applicants, especially those who may have been kept out the first time around because of their UG GPA. Do you feel that UG GPA is really a fair way to weigh one students against another? Might the LSAT come to be more important than GPA in the future?

For GW: Are there plans to expand the school's LRAP to include all government jobs rather than specific ones (ie: working with underrepresented populations)?

For both schools: How do they view submitting a diversity statement AND a Why GW/BC essay in addition to the personal statement? Is that too much?

For GW: How well do you place graduates in
new york city law firms?

For GW: How the heck do you determine scholarships??? You seem to be the only school that either gives out a full ride or almost nothing. Why don't you offer more partial scholarships (not need-based grants)?

This is really a question for all schools, but I'll use GW and BC as an example: GW, the Dean of your law school earned his JD at Yale. BC, the Dean of your law school earned his JD at Harvard. This seems like a pretty common occurence. Most law school deans seem to have earned their JD at Harvard or Yale. Do you think at some point in the future your institution might hire a Dean with a JD from your institution? Why or why not?
