Top Law Schools

Interested in entertainment law, or IP law, and plan to work for 1-2 years in an administrative capacity for Showtime Networks. Would be working in the Original Series Programming department, so not exactly legal experience... How will law schools, particularly T14, feel about this?

They only care about work experience to the extent that you have work experience, and that makes you more likely to be mature (and therefore successful) while in law school than those with equivalent stats who don't. I can tell you from personal experience that a few years of very non-law-related WE can still be valuable.

Real work in the real world is relevant. Something that shows you are a functioning adult.

They're right. It can also be a source for a solid LOR.

Figure out how to weave it into a good narrative. For entertainment or copyright, this could be relevant.

Thanks for the responses everybody. I definitely feel compelled to gain work experience and earn some money after these past 4 years... any last thoughts?

I've worked for two years in the construction industry, beginning at essentially the same level as an illegal day laborer, and the WE helped me on my applications.
