With Chapman improving by leaps and bounds, in the near future (5 years) will it be able to compete with UC Irvine in the OC Market (big and small law)?

Big law probably not unless your top 10%, small and medium law yes. They won't get much attention from big law unless they jump to top 50%. And why do people bitch so much about Chapman "cheating" its way up to top 100 when most schools do the same. Duke posts 100% employment, which has to be total BS. Loyola also overinflates their employment. Many other schools do the same, employing their students in clinics and research fellowships. I don't see anything morally wrong with that since the grads are also reaping some benefit by getting some experience that they otherwise wouldn't get if they sat on their ass applying for TTT jobs on craigslist. If a school has the resources to help some of their struggling students then I think thats better for the students. If you want to see how a school does career wise look to their median salary. If it says 70k, then most of the grads are making 40-50k their first year out. That tells you more about how the students compete in the market than anything else.

Semi-joke response 2: The real question is, when UCI stops bribing all of it's students to go there instead of UCLA/USC, will it be able to compete with Chapman.

Welcome to ITE: Where top 5-10%/LR at T1 doesn't guarantee you biglaw in a secondary market.

Its at the bottom of the totem pole in an over impacted law school market and whose gonna go down for them to pass? It can't really compete w/ UCI, but can its grads get small law jobs or maybe midlaw...sure what the hell, why not.

I wouldn't say its at the bottom of the totem pole, because you have Whittier, Western State, La Verne, Southwestern, and to a smaller extent, the T4 schools in SD for the LA/OC/SD market. So I would say its in between the middle and lower level because you really can't compare Chapman to the truly sucky schools and the schools that are in the middle ground in LA/SD (Pepperdine, LMU, USD).
