Can't decide between George Washington and Notre Dame

I need help deciding between the two schools. I got about the same amount of money to both schools and I want to end up practicing on the East Coast. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to which school would better suit practicing on the East Coast as well as any other insights. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If the money is the same I would go with GW. ND has a hard time placing in Chicago, its home market, so I would imagine it does not place as well as GW on the east coast. If you want to practice in DC then GW all the way.

I'd always hesitate about going to Notre Dame, ESPECIALLY for law school. Many of the big-time law firms(especially in the bigger cities) are made up of mostly Jewish lawyers. Thus, going to Notre Dame may not be a good idea.

I live in South Bend and would recommend ND. I know people who have gone from ND and then done great things.

Condoleeza Rice went to ND-- I think it is a matter of how you use your degree, not where you go from it.

If you want East Coast, GW travels well from DC up to NY. If you want the NE, neither school will do that well.

If costs are the same, I would definitely take GW.

Notre Dame would def. NOT travel well in the DC/NY/NJ area-see my post above

They're both peer schools, but I imagine GW has an edge on the east coast. Plus, would you rather spend your mid 20's in the middle-of-nowhere, Indiana or a major, lively metropolitan city? Go to GW.

I agree. My UG is in South Bend, and there is NOTHING here except lots of corn and a bad economy. We were hit really hard when the RV shut down, and it's just getting worse.

ND for the midwest and West Coast, GW for DC, toss up for NY, probably GW. The guy who said ND has trouble in Chicago doesn't know wtf he's talking about. That aside, even that troll would have to agree ND for Chicago.
