GW just sent an email to admitted students directing them to check out the Dean's blog - http://20thandh.org/ - for a new post titled "The Legal Job Market--Where Do We Go From Here?"

In the post, the Dean acknowledges:
Again this year, and, if prognostications are correct, for several more to come, our graduates are entering the profession in an extraordinarily challenging job market.
a number of our students have so far been less successful in their job searches
But thankfully there's a silver lining!
We have all become more and more aware of the fact that the challenges posed by the current economic climate require creative, ‘outside the box’ thinking. For example, a conversation with a member of the Law School Board of Advisors, a partner at a major Washington, D.C., law firm, about that firm’s plan to hire temporary associates through a placement firm led to a plan by which GW Law became the “placement agency.” We were able to place more than a dozen members of the class of 2009 who have worked there for over six months
I know things are bad all over, but way to sell the school. Good to know that if I decide to attend GW at sticker over Vandy, Michigan, or Cornell I will be rewarded with a temporary associate position in 3 years.

My take was different ... a little refreshing honesty rather than the ultra-positive spin so many other schools vomit out.

I agree. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I'm shocked a Dean is so candid.
