Debating whether to take another class this summer to boost from 3.70 to a 3.72

Relevant GPA medians:

Michigan: 3.70
Cornell: 3.63
Chicago: 3.76
Georgetown: 3.68
UIUC: 3.5
Penn: ~3.75

Worth it?

Expecting a 169/170 in June

Michigan: 169
Cornell: 167
Chicago: 171
Georgetown: 170
UIUC: 165
Penn: ~169/170

What is the cost (monetary, time, etc.)?

The gain is relatively small, so it is unlikely to make a large difference. But every little bit helps. It would only help at schools with a median around 3.70 (Michigan, Chicago, Penn, etc.).

save your time and add 1 point to your lsat. 1 lsat = ~.1 gpa at least for you.

TITCR. It depends entirely on the opportunity cost.

ah... I wish. 10 Pts in a row 168/169, and I've used up 19-48. So I only have 11 left and the amount of time I'll use to take and review these wouldn't be infringed on by another class...

Cost is prolly around $500, and time isn't really an issue. Might as well, maybe?

Probably not worth it, IMO, unless you will have law school paid for you and don't need the money.

With a 169/170, you will probably be in at Cornell and GULC, and you'll get scholarships to top 20/25 schools (all of which the 0.02 UGPA will not matter one iota).

It depends how badly you would like C/M/P over your other options and whether that $500 is best spent on something else (like law school tuition).

I'd prefer to be in the Midwest, and I'd prolly take UIUC with money over GULC and Cornell. I'm willing to pay sticker for Michigan, which I think is dooable with a 169/170. But you're definitely right about gettin dinged at Chicago without a 172/3. But if I could manage that, are you saying the 3.7 3.72 difference is negligible?

I don't want to imply that I have any real knowledge, but I feel that if you have a 170/3.72 you chances are much much better than 169/3.7 at Michigan. 170 is 75%, 3.72 is > median.

That said, you have to know that you will get an A, but if you can improve, why not? It is $500 but also every little bit counts. If you are up for a spot against someone who has a 3.7 then you would wan that 0.02. That said, what stops you from taking 3 summer classes and get even higher?

Very good point....

That's a good suggestion. I would have to take a class from the middle of May to late June, which could potentially interfere with LSAT prep. Like I've said though, I have a very limited amount of materials left which means this might be feasible. Running those numbers with As, I'd be at a 3.73
