I think law schools only get wary when you take the LSAT four or more times. It's common to take the LSAT two or three times. If there is a big score discrepancy only do an addendum if they ask. I would simply state the different approaches you took for each LSAT.

This is my impression thus far, if I am mistaken another poster can feel free to correct me.

If your scores won't give you a chance at all or a very low chance, what do you have to lose by retaking the LSAT?

That situation gives you a much better chance of getting into the top schools or good schools with $$ as opposed to the status quo. Go for it!

Thanks! Call me greedy, it's ok! I want more money and more acceptances! 1-2 point can mean $20k more at umich, and 4 point may mean a full ride anywhere. The incentive is strong for me to retake (my GPA is going to get a bump too next month). But I am just scared of getting a few points lower and hard to explain out of it. It may be unfounded, but a 170/168 is going to be worse than 170 once no matter how you justify it.

that's true...could you retake in june but still have your deposit at umich? or is that too risky because june is pretty close? i just think your gpa shows you're a hard working person and so chances of an improvement in your lsat score are pretty high
