I heard that your rank in class is more important than your GPA to transfer, but what if your school doesn't rank? How does this work?

It's usually possible to determine what your rank would be from your school's median and standard deviation. Plus, law schools have reputations for what kind of grades they give out, and other law schools that have taken transfers from your school in the past will be familiar with what your GPA means, even if there is no published rank.

Wondering this too. Does it make it harder to transfer? Schools can probably get a rough idea of your rank based on your curve, but it's really just an estimation. I wish schools wouldn't refuse to publish rank, it does those at the top of the class a disservice.
