Visiting Law School's Admissions Office/Tour

Post by Perjury » Sun Mar 28, 2010 7:58 pm

What are the thoughts of visiting the admissions office or taking a tour at a law school your particularly interested in going to? Help or no effect in gaining admissions?

Can't hurt unless you act like a pompous douche.

Face to the name and all that.

Enough to get a building named after you if you plan to buy your way in.

If its one of your top schools, find a professor that is a field of study you are really interested in, and make an appointment to meet w/ them, along w/ the Dean of Admissions. Tell the Dean you have a meeting with them, and then tell the prof. vice-versa. Follow up with a letter to the Dean about how you love the school, and how that professor (who works in the field you are attracted to) has only further cemented your decision to want to attend.

Take it for what its worth, but I believe it really helps out.
