Top Law Schools

While I realize that my score is abysmal, I wonder if there is any hope for some T1 schools. Would an addendum, give me a chance or should I just give up altogether? Thanks.

Bottom end T2 is your best shot with a hell of an LSAT addendum explaining the bad score. With that GPA it would be a waste not to retake even if you just got a 8 pt increase.

Sounds like you aren't really committed to law school if you're going to give up all together based on what people say on a message board. You should probably take the LSAT again. If you can't for some reason, apply to lower T1 schools for their part time programs. The admissions standards are lower, and you can usually switch after your first semester or year.

Either retake or attend a very inexpensive program (approx. < $17,000) and work hard to do well or transfer. If I were you, I would retake. You will not regret a year off working (assuming you are fresh out of undergrad).

and exactly what do you plan on writing on your addendum?

I do want to go to school. I have never tested well in a standardized setting, thus the addendum. What chances does one have with attending a T2 or a part-time T1, doing very well, then transferring to a higher ranked school? I have been out of undergrad for 2 years. We had two babies in 11 months of each other so I couldn't give 100% to school at that time. I don't want to have to wait one more year, but will if I can get a better score on a retake. thanks for all your feedback.

Do you know the area you want to practice/live? Some areas have reasonably respectable T2/T3 schools that do well enough in their home town, although with really no portability - you would have a chance at such schools. Note that this isn't an ideal option, but something to consider if you haven't and are dead set on going to law school ASAP. Best option would be to retake, take great GPA, go to T1 easily

Don't listen to the naysayers brother. This site carries with it a certain dose of arrogance and elitism. 152 is by no means an "abysmal" score. It is right around the average score that test takers get. How did average become abysmal?

I go to the UO, and the law school here would surely take you based on your numbers, and I do not feel it is a bad school or anything that anyone should feel bad about.

Apply wherever you want to go and explain why you want to go there and why you deserve it and there is no telling where you can get it. Just because the top-14 may not take you does not mean that you can't get a fine legal education and go on to do cool things with your career.
