Another esteemed poster of this site showed me this video, and I thought more people might find it interesting. It has a lot of good bits about the LSAT and some things about rankings, as well as a discussion about African-American applicants and applications.

His conclusion at the end is that the ABA is considering removing the requirement that students take the LSAT. They are voting on it this year. Wow. That is incredible. I am glad I am applying this year. Imagine how unpredictable an admissions cycle would be if you didn't have a standardized score to give an estimate of where you will be accepted. If I had to rely on my GPA alone I'd be looking at Cooley.

Yea, I think some people chose not to sit through the whole 42 mins, because it didnt get a lot of responses, but I thought it was pretty good.

Yea, except Im pretty sure the requirement would be "removed" in the same way undergrad schools like Bowdoin dont require a standardized test for entrance... but when their asst. dean of admissions came to my HS to visit me you best believe he asked me what my scores were.

Just as true for me. They'd probably start counting majors if they eliminated the LSAT.

And I didn't know there was no statistical difference between race, gender, and ethnicity on specific questions in the experimental section, but that overall African-Americans do worse overall. I would have assumed that what is true for the test as a whole would be true for individual questions.

Great video. I'm only about quarter of the way, and if I had seen this first before applying I probably would have saved a bunch of money on long shots.
