Well, why did you end up with a 2.4? If it isn't indicative of your abilities, there must be a story behind your grades which none of us could possibly be aware of.

Just tell her your college gpa not LSDAS. And tell her that you didnt give a shit about school and just wanted to get laid, smoke pot and drink all day, but now you realize its bad and you promise not to do it anymore. Honesty is the key.

Two big things happened, my parents had back to back strokes my soph and junior years, mom was ok relatively speaking. Dad was in the ICU/Stroke care for a year and had to learn how to walk again, whole 9 yards, couldn't eat without help, etc etc. So I spent the time going back and forth trying to take care of my younger brother and sister, and I fell into a funk worrying about losing both my parents. Between that and my freshman year partying, I never got it up.

I also took off a few years to put some distance between me and the ugpa, so right now I'm 2 years of good work experience out of ug, been promoted 3 times in the span, so I will have an employer LOR.

I am planning on applying as early as possible this fall Sep 1st/Sep 15th to get every advantage I can in the application process. I have 1 LOR so far, and am getting another, only thing this professor wants to know my gpa overall and her classes (which are good, A-, B+, A) how do I explain to her that my overall gpa is lower but not an indicator of my ability, any suggestions?
You just found out that you were a bad student?

a) You were born yesterday

b) You are in fact the "Ras Trent"

c) You are not Ras Trent, but do smoke a lot of weed

d) All of the above

Please indicate the correct answer.

That is a good reason in my opinion. Tell this LOR writer what you told us.

Do not tell them about the partying of your first year of college though, not a good idea. :D

Thanks a lot, I will make sure to bring out all the stops without sounding too whiny.
