Anyone care to offer opinions/insight about Georgetown's special preferred WL? Do we think this is a sure acceptance.. or just as variable as any other WL? Also, has anyone in this group heard any additional follow up info from ____? I sent a LOCI and have only received a "thank you, will keep you posted, etc." thus far.

is sophia sim the person they told you to contact in the email?
im in the select group in the preferred waiting list and they told me to contact someone else
ARE THERE MORE THAN 3 GROUPS??!?!?

edit: I had a different name than above; just removing it to play it on the safe side.

I also have someone else as my contact. I don't think it is a matter of priority though, they probably just divied it up because who wants to be answering emails all day.

What do you guys think about the likelihood of being accepted from this list?

As for the likelihood of acceptance, hopefully they'll give us some clues in their update they said they'd provide before 3/22.

I'm curious to hear from anyone who knows about last cycle's GULC WL. I've heard before that the select group was pretty much just YP last year, but that doesn't seem to be the case this year, and I've even seen claims that GULC doesn't YP. Any comments?

If you search "special preferred" from previous years, it seems that several TLS users were admitted. Actually, I could only find one that was not. However, info on the "special preferred" group is limited.

I also find it interesting that this group consists of 20 applicants... wow. There must be about 10 on TLS.

I think it's grown quite a bit since she wrote that email. But yeah, that number still struck me as small.

Even if it is above 20, it still sounds fairly small. Good news? haha
