Besides the prestige factor, why should I choose Emory over UGA if I absolutely want to practice in Georgia? I'm thinking UGA is the way to go, but please feel free to persuade me otherwise..

if costs end up being similar (huge $$$ from emory vs full ride from uga), i'd choose emory. some prestige might be factored in, but i'd rather be in atlanta than athens, personally.

What about as far as getting jobs post graduation? Does anyone think one would have a significant advantage in the job market... (all else equal).

an "emory uga" forum search will yield a large selection of previous threads on this topic with lots of helpful info.

Gotta love that search feature...

The job prospects in atl are about 50/50. Why spend 40+ a year at emory when all 3 years at UGA will be less than that...

Go to UGA. Networking with attorneys in the city (from biglaw partners on down) you'll quickly find that the sheer number of UGA lawyers indicate a placement level far beyond its ranking. Definitely comparable to Emory within the city. If this is where you want to practice - without $$ from either - go to UGA, assuming you can stomach Athens.
