Top Law Schools

Considering using this in a LOCI/Why X to one of my schools. Opinions? Will it make me stand out in a good way or a very bad way.

Yes, too risky. I figure if i have to write one those I research what the school finds important (PI, diversity, specific practice of law, their prized clinical program or whatever) and go from there. Even if it isn't entirely genuine (try for somewhat...don't lie), if you're writing a LOCI, you don't have much to lose.

Not risky, just a bad idea. This makes you sound either not serious about the admissions process (bad) or way too concerned with the weather (also bad).

^^ I agree, make it sound like you actually care about something the school prides itself on.

Remember what they say about personal statements, humor usually falls flat.... That was cute but I can't see it doing ANY good for you.

but dont do it.

Make it professional, why the school wants YOU, why YOU want the SCHOOL, and why choosing you is a great idea because of what you offer the school. All the while be super humble and professional.

It's tough, but a good LOCI can make the difference. One guy on here got into 3 schools he was held/WL'd because of a good LOCI.

Oh jeez... sorry to hear that. No safeties huh? Well make sure to not get risky then. Make it really professional and to the point. And request a phone interview as well. And pick one and let them know that if accepted, you WILL go.

Waitlisted at Gtown and BC, deferred ED at NYU and put in reserved group at Columbia. Waiting to here back from rest of schools in profile.

I thought BC, BU and Fordham were safeties. Hopefully I wasn't wrong.

Maybe apply to one more school as a safety? Or if you dont get in wait til next cycle.
