Top Law Schools

Hey guys. Like the subject says I'm a black female double major in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a double minor in Math and Computer Science. Decent GPA but low for t20 (3.4) but decent LSAT (170). Pretty decent but average softs - President of 2 honor societies, Senior Class Pres .. buttload of other leadership activities, 3 industry internships, coming from a historically black university though. Just wondering what you guys thoughts are as far as how high up the law school chart I should apply. Thanks.

Apply to the whole T14 . . . you'll get a couple for sure, pretty good shot at HYS . . . unless your writing is a 3rd grade level, you'll get into a lot of great schools . . . I wouldn't stress

PS: If you want confirmation, search for URM's with similar numbers on LSN . . . you'll find it pretty encouraging

Apply to the whole t-14...enjoy Harvard (or Columbia as a consolation prize)

I'm not an expert on the admissions process (some of the more experienced TLSers could be of a lot more help), but I would blanket the T-14 if I were you. One of the T6s may bite, and I think you could get some $$ from the lower T-14. However, the one thing that may hurt you is how late in the cycle it is.

I'm not applying until the fall so I may still take the LSAT over. You guys just made my day. Thanks.

Ha no no, you made your own day. That 170 is impressive! Very few AAs get 170+ on their LSAT, so I would imagine your score will make a lot of schools ignore your GPA.
