Does having an acting career help you get into law school?

I've taken noteworthy acting classes and will have a small part in the upcoming movie Step Up 3-D. I also have a few noteworthy background roles which I have also included in my resume.

When admission council members see this with an already impressive resume, will they be star struck or is it irrelevant?

It appears LSAT/GPA is the only thing that really mattered. Unless of course, you're such an actor that your acting convince them you've scored a 170 when in reality you scored only 160.

The short answer:

--ImageRemoved--

Stop acting and get your LSAT in shape! (If you are that dude from Jersey Shore who's going for law school, U R NOT AN ACTOR!)

How can you disqualify legitimate training and experience on the basis of how long that I've been doing it for?

this will serve as nothing more than an interesting soft, and by that I mean, little to no effect.

Probably a flame, but if not then I think its a pretty unique soft that will be a plus, regardless of whether you won any awards. (If he won an Emmy he would not be trying to go to law school, but instead would continue pursuing an acting career) But then again I agree with Panda - like any soft, its going to help only if you are a borderline candidate.

It would help Brad Pitt. It didn't help Jerry O'Connell. It won't help the OP.

I think there's a multiple Emmy winner attending Yale Law right now.

I don't think Helmholtz overstates this... either Columbia or Yale list an Emmy award-winning producer as being part of their current class in order to emphasize their broad range of students. That said, if you have solid numbers, this could be something that helps you stand out from the crowd, though I can pretty much guarantee that no adcomm is going to be remotely "star struck."

From what you've stated, you don't seem to be anything other than a glorified set piece that steals M&M's off the carafe services table.

Carafe service sounds excellent. well, depending on the vintage. but it's "craft" services unless you're filming a hip-hop video club scene.
